No. If your child is not fully potty trained, please send your child with an extra pair of clothes. What are your educational goals?
My goal is to prepare each student for kindergarten. By the time a child graduates from Make a Splash Preschool, they will be well immersed in all letters and sounds (phonics), basic sign language, sight words, numbers (1-10 and beyond), basic shapes, colors, as well as write their name with capital and lowercase letters.
Children will be taught the values of kindness, love, peace, compassion, patience, gentleness, friendliness, courage and joy.
This instruction will all be provided in an environment enriched with play, exploration, art, music, tumbling and creativity.
Do you use an ABC traditional approach or a Montessori approach (letters introduced phonetically rather than by letter names)?
I am impressed with the Montessori approach. It introduces letters in an order that promotes early reading.
Will you incorporate music within your classroom?
YES, YES, YES!!! One of my passions is to promote learning through music.
What is your Sick Policy?
Students should stay home if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, pink eye, sore throat, rash, diarrhea, cold or flu-like symptoms of any kind. Also, please allow a full 24 hours of recovery time after the stomach flu and/or after all cold and fever-reducing medications have been discontinued. I will be allowed one Teacher Sick Day (for illness or to attend a funeral or family emergency) per school year. If other Teacher Sick Days are needed, preschool days will be added to the end of the May calendar or missed days will be refunded.
